Chicharrón Pupusas

  • 2 bags Del Rancho Chicharrones Yummies
  • 4 cups of lukewarm water
  • 4 cups of cornmeal
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of salt
  • Half a pound of grated cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 1 chili
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Mash the pork rinds a little with your hand or a kitchen hammer. No dust left.
  • In a frying pan with oil. Sauté the onion, garlic, chili, Del Rancho Chicharrones, the quesillo salt, and pepper and mix well, reserve
  • In another container proceed to prepare the dough, for this add the flour, the salt along with the remaining 3 cups of water, and begin to knead until it is firm, smooth, and does not stick to the hands
  • Then take a portion and form a ball with the dough then make a hole inside
  • Add a tablespoon and a half of the pork rind with cheese filling and shape it into an oval shape with the palms of your hands.
  • Place the pupusa on a comal previously heated over medium heat and grill on both sides
  • Repeat the procedure with the rest of the dough
  • Serve hot with any sauce.
